When to Upgrade or Replace Plumbing
There are a number of signs it’s time to replace or upgrade plumbing at some level or another. A basic solution of vinegar and baking soda can often clear out most clogs without seriously damaging your existing pipes. A drain snake can be purchased at most hardware stores and that can help you get some of the gunk free and allow the water to flow.
Sometimes, however, a clogged drain can be the result of years of scaling and buildup in your pipes. If this is the case, fighting with it can make the problem worse. Old Pipes
Old pipes are often the cause of plumbing problems. If you still have galvanized pipes, you may need to have them removed and replaced before any repairs can be made. Strange Noises, Smells or Sounds
Strange noises, smells, or sounds can be an indicator of a slow or clogged drain. As above, sometimes these are easy to fix, and sometimes you’ll need a more major repair job from a qualified plumber.
